In this letter to the Senate Commerce Committee leaders, the Confidentiality Coalition urges HIPAA-aligned privacy protections for health data collected outside HIPAA, such as by consumer apps. It encourages the FTC to develop privacy standards and Congress to pass national privacy legislation.
